Initially a chapel, this church began its road in 1605 while being dedicated to Saint Paul. After the Battle of White Mountain, it was rededicated to the Virgin Mary.
One of the important findings is the Sleeping Hermaphroditus, a sculpture of the son of Aphrodite and Hermes. Unfortunately, it was immediately claimed by Scipione Borghese and never came back to its initial place.
If you visit this magical place, you will have the chance to see the marvellous sculpture The Ecstasy of Theresa, which is one of the main assets of the church.
Its early Baroque structure is a sight to behold and catches the eyes of all the people who pass by; they often stop and adore the beautiful architecture. The recent influx of tourists is caused by the widespread novel Angel & Demons by Dan Brown.
