Sicilian Historical Monuments

Agrigento’s historical landscape centers on the UNESCO-listed Valley of the Temples, which contains some of the world's best-preserved Doric structures, including the Temple of Concordia. The archaeological site also integrates modern art, such as Igor Mitoraj’s bronze Icaro Caduto sculpture. Beyond the ancient ruins, the area’s history is marked by the medieval remains of the Castello di Agrigento and contemporary religious memorials dedicated to Pope John Paul II and the Virgin Mary.
