Dresden was the Baroque capital of Saxony, and it was rebuilt from ruins after 1945. This walk visits the sights that define it: the Zwinger courtyard, the Semper opera house, the castle of the Saxon rulers, the Procession of Princes, Brühl's Terrace above the Elbe, the Albertinum, the Church of Our Lady, the rebuilt Neumarkt, the Altmarkt and the Kreuzkirche. Ten stops, about an hour and twenty minutes on foot with the audio. The walk starts in the Zwinger courtyard, a few minutes on foot from Postplatz, the central tram stop, and ends beside Altmarkt, where the same trams run back.

Walk through the heart of Hamburg and meet its signature sights. Starting at the Elbphilharmonie on the harbour front, you climb to St. Michael's church, stroll the old merchant street of Deichstrasse and pass the ruined tower of St. Nikolai. Then the grand City Hall, St. Peter's church and the brick-expressionist Chilehaus lead you into the canals of the UNESCO Speicherstadt, where the walk ends at the Wasserschloss. It begins at the Elbphilharmonie plaza, a short walk from Baumwall underground station.

Walk through the centre of Cologne, from the Gothic cathedral that took more than 600 years to finish to the chocolate museum on the Rhine. The route takes in the Hohenzollern Bridge, the Romanesque churches and houses of the old town, the Town Hall, and the house where eau de Cologne began. Eight stops, about 90 minutes including listening time. The walk starts in front of Cologne Cathedral, directly beside the central railway station.

Best of Munich is a walk through the historic centre, from the medieval Karlstor gate to the edge of the Englischer Garten. You will pass the Jesuit church of St Michael and the Gothic Church of Our Lady, stand beneath the Glockenspiel on Marienplatz, browse the stalls of Viktualienmarkt, step into the Hofbräuhaus, and cross the royal Residenz, Odeonsplatz and Hofgarten before the Haus der Kunst and the surfers on the Eisbach wave. The walk starts at Karlstor, beside Karlsplatz Stachus station, and ends at the Eisbach. Allow about two and a half hours at an easy pace.
