The beach season runs from June to September. July and August are the busiest and hottest. Spring and autumn are mild. The Festa Major de Sant Pere (late June) and the Cambrils Gastronomic Festival are the best-known events.

Cambrils is famous for seafood. Try arròs negre, suquet de peix (fish stew), cargols, grilled prawns, calçots in season, and romesco sauce from Tarragona. The nearby Priorat and Montsant make strong red wines. Local olive oil is also well known.

Cambrils is a safe town. Use sun protection in summer and check beach flags.

Cambrils grew around a medieval tower and walls, and was a fishing town for centuries. The Roman villa of La Llosa shows early settlement. In the 20th century, it developed as a beach resort, and today combines tourism with a working fishing fleet.
