Sacred Greek Orthodox Sites

This collection features significant Greek Orthodox sites across Chalkidiki, ranging from the secluded monastic communities of Mount Athos to historic parish churches in coastal villages. It includes the 10th-century Hilandar Monastery, the only Serbian foundation on the Holy Mountain, and the Skete of Saint Anne, known for its rigorous ascetic tradition. Many of these structures showcase Byzantine architectural influences, intricate iconography, and centuries-old spiritual heritage central to the Macedonian region, including the historic 19th-century stone basilicas of Afytos and Sykia.

Ancient Ruins and Historical Sites

This collection spans the historical breadth of the Chalkidiki peninsula, from the Classical city-states of Olynthos and Stagira—the birthplace of Aristotle—to the Byzantine fortifications that guarded the region.
