Historic Churches of Helsingør

Helsingør’s spiritual history is anchored by the 16th-century St. Olaf's Cathedral and the exceptionally well-preserved Carmelite Priory, one of Scandinavia's finest examples of Gothic monastic architecture. Within the walls of Kronborg Castle, the royal chapel showcases original Renaissance interiors from 1582 that survived the great fire of 1629. The town's religious landscape also includes the Roman Catholic Saint Vincent Church and the mid-20th-century Vestervang Kirke, representing more modern ecclesiastical traditions.
