Hiddensee Essentials

Hiddensee is a car-free Baltic island defined by its deep artistic roots and protected landscapes. This selection features the 14th-century Inselkirche, the last remnant of a Cistercian monastery, and the Art Nouveau Lietzenburg villa. It highlights the island’s cultural legacy through the summer homes of dramatist Gerhart Hauptmann and silent film star Asta Nielsen.
