巴拉顿湖城堡与遗迹
Lake Balaton Castles and Ruins
Lake Balaton’s landscape is defined by architectural heritage ranging from Roman fortifications to Baroque estates. This collection features the 18th-century Festetics Palace in Keszthely and medieval hilltop fortresses like Szigliget and Csobánc, which served as vital defensive lines during the Ottoman wars. The list also includes Romanesque church ruins in Dörgicse and Veszprémfajsz, the Roman castrum of Valcum, and the 13th-century Pauline monastery at Tálod, documenting the region's military, religious, and aristocratic history.
József Főherceg Kastélya
Built in the early 20th century as a summer residence for Archduke Joseph of Habsburg, this neo-Baroque building in Tihany now serves as the Balaton Limnological Research Institute.
