Cultural Heritage Sites

This collection highlights the diverse historical landscape of Matsumoto, from the 16th-century Matsumoto Castle, known for its rare black wooden keep, to the Kaichi School Museum, a pioneer of modern education featuring quasi-Western architecture. The list includes the Hayashi Castle ruins, once the mountain stronghold of the Ogasawara clan, and the Utsukushino-to monument, which serves as a fog bell tower on the Utsukushigahara Highland.
