Cultural Heritage Sites

Kaichi School Museum

The Kaichi School in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture was one of the first schools in Japan.

林城跡

Former seat of the Ogasawara clan, these 16th-century mountain castle ruins consist of two main fortifications, known as the Small Castle and the Large Castle, overlooking the Matsumoto Basin.

梓川テプコ館

Formerly a public exhibition center focused on the Nagawado Dam and hydroelectric power generation, this site now stands as a defunct industrial facility on the banks of the Azusa River.

Utsukusino-toh

Located on the Utsukushigahara Highland, this fog bell tower serves as a landmark and refuge for hikers. It features a relief of poet Kotaro Takamura and stands as a symbol of the plateau.
