Moquegua Essentials

Moquegua’s diverse landscape spans from the Pacific coast to the high Andes, featuring a mix of significant archaeological sites and volcanic landmarks. The region is home to Cerro Baúl, a mesa-top Wari fortress, and the Toquepala Caves, which contain rock art dating back nearly 10,000 years. Volcanic activity defines the highlands near Ubinas, while the Omate Valley offers views of deep canyons and colonial architecture.
