Natural Wonders of Neuquén

Neuquén's landscape is defined by the high Andes and intense volcanic activity. This list includes the ice-capped Lanín volcano and Domuyo, the highest peak in Patagonia. Geothermal features like the Las Olletas geysers contrast with glacial elements such as El Bardón. Significant waterfalls, including the mineral-rich Salto del Agrio and the 30-meter Chachín fall, showcase the province's diverse hydrologic systems within the Lanín and Nahuel Huapi National Parks.

Lanín is an ice-clad, cone-shaped stratovolcano on the border of Argentina and Chile.

Cascada Chachin

Located in Lanín National Park, this 30-meter waterfall is surrounded by dense Valdivian rainforest. A wooden boardwalk leads to a viewpoint overlooking the drop into the Chachín River.

Domuyo

The Domuyo Volcano is a stratovolcano located in the Argentine province of Neuquén.

Salto del Agrio

A 35-meter waterfall that plunges into a basaltic canyon. The surrounding rocks are characterized by vibrant orange and yellow hues caused by high concentrations of sulfur and minerals in the Agrio River.

Tromen

Tromen is a stratovolcano in western Argentina. It rises above the older caldera of the Volcán Negro del Tromen.

Los Cántaros

This waterfall on the Los Cántaros River is reached via a series of wooden stairs within Nahuel Huapi National Park. It consists of several distinct drops near the border with Chile.

Huanquihue Group

The Huanquihue Group is a group of young basaltic stratovolcanoes in Argentina near the border with Chile, south of Lanín volcano.

Cascada Río Bonito

A 35-meter waterfall located near Villa La Angostura. It drops over a sheer basalt cliff into a circular emerald pool, accessible via a short forest trail.
