Best Pálava Viewpoints

This selection covers the diverse topography of the Pálava Hills, a UNESCO biosphere reserve. It includes the highest point, Děvín, offering views of the Nové Mlýny reservoirs, and the iconic Svatý kopeček with its Baroque Way of the Cross and St. Sebastian church. Historic sites like the Kozí hrádek artillery tower provide perspectives over Mikulov, while natural formations like the Kočičí skála cliff and the flooded limestone quarry at Janičův vrch showcase the region's unique karst landscape and biodiversity.

Zatopený vápencový lom

Former limestone quarry at Janičův vrch, now a flooded natural monument. The groundwater-filled basin is surrounded by steep rock walls and serves as a habitat for protected aquatic species.

Kozí hrádek

Remains of late gothic defence fortress built to improve the defence of city of Mikulov and it's castle.

Svaty Kopecek

Limestone rock nature preserve with st. Šebestián church on top of it creates an unforgetable scenery.

Vyhlídka Nad Soutěskou

Natural rock outcrop overlooking the Soutěska gorge. This vantage point provides views of the limestone massifs of the Pavlov Hills, the ruins of Sirotčí hrádek, and the surrounding South Moravian vineyards.

Děvín

Děvín is a double peak mountain in the Pavlov municipality in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic.

Kočičí skála

Isolated limestone rock formation and nature monument. It hosts rare thermophilous plant species and provides a perspective of the nearby Svatý kopeček and the Mikulov skyline.
