Churches and Shrines

Portofino’s religious heritage is anchored by the 12th-century Divo Martino, a Romanesque church housing notable Ligurian artworks. Along the cliffside, the Church of San Giorgio preserves the relics of the town’s patron saint, overlooking the harbor and sea. The 14th-century Oratorio di Nostra Signora Assunta serves as the seat of the local confraternity and features traditional wooden processional crucifixes. Smaller sites like Madonna del Capo and the Chapel of San Sebastiano mark historic paths, reflecting centuries of maritime and rural devotion.
