Quito Heritage Sites

Quito’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, preserves one of the best-preserved colonial layouts in South America. This collection spans from the pre-Inca archaeological ruins of Quitoloma and Catequilla to the grand Spanish colonial architecture of the 16th and 17th centuries. Highlights include the Neo-Gothic Basilica of the National Vow, the Baroque interiors of the Church of San Francisco, and the presidential Carondelet Palace.
