Sirmione Unmissables

Sirmione occupies a narrow peninsula on Lake Garda, anchored by the 13th-century Scaliger Castle and the Grottoes of Catullus, a vast Roman villa complex. The town’s history is reflected in its Romanesque architecture, including the frescoed walls of San Pietro in Mavino and the 15th-century Santa Maria Maggiore. Beyond its ruins and churches, Sirmione is known for its natural sulfurous thermal springs and the distinctive flat rock slabs of Jamaica Beach, offering a mix of archaeological significance and unique geological features.
