Sperlonga Essentials
Sperlonga’s historic center is defined by its whitewashed houses and narrow alleys perched above the Tyrrhenian Sea. The village is centered around the 16th-century Torre Truglia watchtower and two expansive sandy beaches, Ponente and Levante. Its Roman heritage is preserved at the Villa of Tiberius, a 1st-century seaside retreat featuring a massive natural sea cave. Adjacent to the ruins, the National Archaeological Museum displays monumental marble sculptures depicting scenes from the Odyssey, originally used to decorate the emperor's maritime grotto.
