Filled with shops, this rather narrow street radiates Shibuya's atmosphere. A popular gathering spot for locals, especially the youth, do not be surprised if you come across a crowd of strangely-clad people celebrating here.
The street has a number of fashion stores packed along its sides, as well as several fast-food restaurants. You can sing karaoke here, or wander into one of the several game shops that can also be found on the street. Do not miss a chance to play a round of pachinko, a popular mechanical game that is the Japanese gamblers' alternative to the Western slot machines.
The name of the street translates to "center street", you would be hard-pressed to find anything central about its location, though.
If you want to experience the atmosphere in full, time your visit so that you come at night. This is when the street truly awakens. It also provides plenty of great photo opportunities, with the ever-present neon lights.
