This public square boasts Fontaine du Palmier, a large fountain celebrating the victories of Napoleon Bonaparte. Its name refers to a fort that used to stand nearby but was demolished at the beginning of the 19th century. The square is located close to the Conciergerie and the popular Rivoli Street.
