Podyjí National Park Essentials

Vranov nad Dyjí Chateau

Burg Hardegg is a castle in Lower Austria, Austria. Burg Hardegg is 317 metres above sea level.

Znojmo Castle

Historic castle with origins reaching back to the 4th millennium BC that later served as a defensive stronghold, mint and residence of regional margraves. Parts of the complex house the Znojmo Museum with permanent and temporary exhibitions.

Nový Hrádek

Ruined double castle complex featuring a 14th-century core and 15th-century outer fortifications. It offers views of the Dyje river meanders within the park's protected first zone.

Šobes (vinice)

A rock lookout point named after the Znojmo-born writer Charles Sealsfield. It provides a view of the deep Dyje canyon and the surrounding heathlands.

Historical viewpoint with a wooden shelter overlooking the Znojmo reservoir and the Dyje valley. Legend states Polish King Sobieski watched his troops from here in 1683.

Hradiště sv. Hypolita

An archaeological site and former Great Moravian fortified settlement. The area features a Baroque church and remnants of prehistoric and medieval fortifications overlooking Znojmo.
