Zanzibar South & Central Essentials

Zanzibar’s South and Central regions offer a mix of conservation areas and cultural heritage. Jozani Forest protects the endemic Red Colobus monkey, while the 12th-century Kizimkazi Mosque marks one of the oldest Islamic sites on the East African coast. Coastal areas like Paje and Jambiani are centers for traditional seaweed farming and dhow building.
