Rising 511 meters above sea level, Mount Avala is a protected landscape southeast of Belgrade. The area also hosts the 1964 Soviet War Veterans memorial, historic 1920s architecture like Mitrovicev Dom, and a traditional wooden church dedicated to Saint Stefan Lazarević.
