Beautiful Beaches

Kerry’s coastline features diverse coastal landscapes, from the three-mile sandy spit of Inch Beach to the rugged cliffs surrounding Coumeenoole Bay. These Atlantic-facing shores include Rossbeigh’s sand dunes and the secluded St Finian’s Bay, which offers direct views of the Skellig Islands. Many of these locations, such as Clogher Strand, are known for their powerful surf and roles as filming locations for mid-20th-century cinema.

Inch Beach

A three-mile sandy spit extending into Dingle Bay. It is a designated Blue Flag beach used for surfing, sea angling, and kayaking. The dunes served as a backdrop for the 1970 film Ryan’s Daughter.

Rossbeigh Beach

This seven-kilometre sandy beach is part of a Special Area of Conservation. It features a playground and views across the water to the Dingle Peninsula and Inch Beach.

Coumeenoole Bay

Situated on the Slea Head Drive, this beach is framed by steep cliffs. It is known for its dramatic scenery and strong Atlantic currents, making it unsuitable for swimming but popular for photography.

St Finians Bay Beach

A small, secluded bay also known as Trá Bá Fhionáin. It offers clear views of the Skellig Islands and is a notable spot for experienced surfers due to its powerful swells.

Clogher Strand

A horseshoe-shaped bay on the Dingle Peninsula known for its wild Atlantic waves and views of Inis Tuaisceart, also called the Sleeping Giant. The beach is primarily rocky with white sand patches.
