Hakone’s spiritual landscape is defined by its integration with the natural environment, particularly around Lake Ashi and Mount Hakone. Sounji Temple

Rinzai Zen temple founded in 1521 as the family temple for the Hojo clan, who ruled the Kanto region. It houses the graves of five generations of Hojo lords and important cultural artifacts.
