Historic Castles and Heritage
Ingolstadt’s historic core is defined by its strategic military and academic past. This collection features the 15th-century New Castle and the 13th-century Herzogskasten, also known as the Old Castle. The city’s defensive legacy is visible at the Reduit Tilly fortress and the iconic 1385 Kreuztor gateway.
