Historic Sacred Sites

The Trenčín Region preserves a diverse collection of spiritual architecture spanning nearly a millennium. This selection includes the 12th-century Romanesque chapel in Veľký Klíž, the Gothic landmarks of Prievidza, and the 17th-century Piarist Church in Trenčín. Notable highlights feature Vladimír Karfík’s 20th-century functionalist design in Partizánske and the Diocesan Sanctuary of St. Benedict near the historic Skalka monastery.
