Historic Churches and Places of Worship

Cerkev Marije Zdravja

Situated at the tip of the Piran peninsula, this church is also known as St. Clement's. It features a distinctive circular tower and was renamed after the plague of 1630.

Marije Snezne / Maria Schnee

A small 15th-century church located near the town gate. It houses a collection of valuable paintings and serves as a quiet space within the medieval walls.

Bell tower

This 46.5-meter bell tower is a scale replica of St. Mark’s Campanile in Venice. It stands adjacent to St. George’s Parish Church and offers views across the Adriatic.

Minoritski samostan sv. Frančiška s križnim hodnikom

This 14th-century Franciscan monastery features a cloister renowned for its acoustics. It serves as a prominent venue for classical music concerts and cultural events.

Cerkev sv. Bernardina

These 15th-century ruins belonged to a former Franciscan monastery. The preserved bell tower and church walls overlook the coastline between Piran and Portorož.
