This 38-story skyscraper was officially opened by King Juan Carlos I in 2005. According to the French architect Jean Nouvel who designed it, its unusual shape should remind you of geysers striking the air. The structure is also said to be inspired by Montserrat, the rocky range located near Barcelona.
It is a fine example of High-tech architecture - the materials used in the construction are mainly concrete, aluminium, and glass. Due to its illumination, it is a popular sight to see at night.
The skyscraper was named after a holding company called the Agbar Group that owned it until 2017. Then, it was purchased by Merlin Properties real estate group and it changed its name to Torre Glòries after the nearby square.
There are mainly offices inside. The platform on the 30th floor is open to the public.
