Santa Reparata once stood on the site of what is now the magnificent cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. Dating back to the 8th century, it was named after the early virgin martyr who is the co-patron saint of Florence.
The excavations conducted in the 1960s revealed several tombstones, such as the tomb of Brunelleschi, but also remains of two previous churches.
