Designed by Henry Bacon in 1923, this enormous reflecting pool is more than 600 meters long and 50 meters wide. Its surface can reflect both the Lincoln and Washington memorials. A tinted bottom was added to enhance the reflection. The area has been the site of many important historical events, such as Obama Inaugural Celebration.
