Artworks dating back to the 13th - 18th centuries are on display in this famous gallery, housed in a fairly modern-looking building. Some of the highlights include works by Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and Botticelli. The gallery also organizes a number of public tours and exhibition talks which you can attend.
The museum's collections are arranged in a chronological order, making it quite easy to navigate. Once inside the main hall, you can choose to go left and explore mostly Italian art or you can go right and marvel at the art of German and Flemish masters.
Visitors are asked not to enter the gallery with large baggage, sharp objects or clothes such as coats and jackets. These can be left in a cloakroom or a storage facility, provided for free in the museum.
