Designed by architect Ernst von Ihne and constructed between 1897 and 1904, this Baroque Revival building is a listed building and part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Originally named the Kaiser-Friedrich-Museum, it was later renamed to honor its first curator, Wilhelm von Bode. The structure is notable for its architecture and features a prominent dome.
The building houses the Sculpture Collection, the Museum of Byzantine Art, and the Coin Cabinet. The exhibits include European sculptures from the Middle Ages to the classical era, ancient Byzantine art, and various Renaissance masterpieces.
The numismatic collection is among the most significant globally, containing an extensive array of coins and medals. The museum is open to the public, with admission priced at 14,00 EUR for adults and 7,00 EUR for concessions.
