Palma Cathedral

Local nameLa Seu
LocationPalma, Spain

This imposing cathedral, commissioned by James I of Aragon in 1229, was built on the site of an old Arab mosque. It took nearly 270 years to complete and it was eventually finished in 1601. The cathedral was later re-designed by Antoni Gaudí. It is a very popular place to visit and rightfully so - the architecture is simply breathtaking.
