A beautiful sight and an architectural wonder, this suspension bridge obviously got its name from the rainbow coloured lights that shine on its white columns.
Constructed in 1993, the bridge connects the city centre and the suburban areas - it has been developed as the main line of the city's high-speed road network.
With the length of 798 metres, the bridge spans over a part of the Tokyo Bay and creates an eye-catching addition to Tokyo's skyline when it lights up in the night.
You can get here from the train station Tamachi (lines Keihintohoku and Yamanote) or by numerous buses that have stops around the bridge. If you plan on crossing the bridge on foot, however, keep in mind that the walkways can only be used between 9 am and 9 pm in summer, and between 10 am and 6 pm in winter.
