Also called the 'New Tokyo Tower', this majestic monument is a must-see for any visitor of Tokyo. It offers an amazing view of as far as 70 kilometres in the distance.
With a height of 634 meters, the Skytree was the tallest building in Japan and the tallest tower in the world at the time of its completion in 2011. It even held the Guinness World record.
The height of the tower is interesting since the numbers 6, 3 and 4 can be read as syllables Mu, Sa and Shi in Japanese. Musashi is the name of the district of Tokyo in which the tower is located.
The Skytree has two separate observation decks. The lower, called Tembo Deck, hangs at the height of 350 meters. You can enjoy a cup of coffee here while looking at the city around in a 360 degrees view. The upper, called Tembo Galleria, is placed at the height of 450 meters. You can only access it if you purchase a separate ticket at the tower.
