Santa Justa Lift

Santa Justa Elevator is the only vertical public lift of Lisbon and is 45 meters high. This glass and metal structure was designed by Raoul Mesnier du Ponsard and it is beautifully decorated with Neo-Gothic features. It was completed in 1902, and not only is it still operating but in 2002, it was also classified as a National Monument.

Also called Carmo Lift, this popular tourist attraction is located in the historical part of the city and it will transport you to the ruins of Carmo Convent. On the top floor, there is a lookout which offers splendid views of the surrounding area.
