This site was once occupied by one of the oldest churches in Prague's Old Town (dating back to the 13th century). It was eventually demolished and the church you can see here today was completed in 1737.
This new Baroque church was designed by Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer, a famous Czech architect. Though it may be rather small, its delicate interior decorations are definitely worth the visit - note its magnificent crystal chandelier. Nowadays, the church is used as a concert venue.
It is located on the Old Town Square near other imposing sights (e.g. Astronomical Clock and Our Lady before Týn church). Around the corner, you can find the famous shopping street called Pařížská with many chic boutiques.
Free admission.
