Castles and Towers

Alghero’s coastline and historic center are defined by a network of defensive towers and fortifications dating primarily from the 14th to the 18th centuries. These structures include massive city wall bastions like Torre di Sulis and isolated coastal lookouts such as Torre della Pegna. Built during the Aragonese and Spanish periods, they served to protect the city and surrounding bays from maritime incursions.
