Edmonton’s performing arts landscape spans from the brutalist architecture of the Citadel Theatre to the world-class acoustics of the Francis Winspear Centre for Music. The city preserves its cinematic history at the 1940s Garneau Theatre and the reconstructed Capitol Theatre at Fort Edmonton Park. Large-scale productions are hosted at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, while the Old Strathcona district supports amateur performance at the Walterdale Playhouse. Modern multiplexes in West Edmonton Mall and the northern suburbs provide contemporary IMAX and AVX viewing experiences.
