Gjendesheim

A flagship Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT) lodge situated at the eastern shore of Lake Gjende. It serves as the primary starting point for the Besseggen ridge hike and provides ferry access to Memurubu and Gjendebu.

Spiterstulen turisthytte

A privately owned mountain lodge located in the Visdalen valley. It serves as a base for climbing Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind, and offers access to the Svellnosbreen glacier.

Leirvassbu

A mountain lodge situated 1,400 meters above sea level at the head of the Leirdalen valley. It is a central hub for ski touring and climbing the surrounding peaks, including the pyramid-shaped Kyrkja.

Memurubu

A privately owned lodge located at the midpoint of Lake Gjende. It is a primary endpoint for the Besseggen ridge trail and a starting point for hikes across the Memurubreen glacier.

Gjendebu

Established in 1871, this is the oldest cabin of the Norwegian Trekking Association. It is located at the western end of Lake Gjende at the intersection of trails leading to the Svartdalen and Leirungsdalen valleys.
