Historic Forts and Palaces

This collection highlights the defensive and architectural evolution of the Bay of Kotor. It includes the medieval Venetian fortifications of St. John, towering above the Old Town, alongside 19th-century Austro-Hungarian forts like Goražda and Vrmac. Fort of St John

Venetian fortification situated 280 meters above Kotor's Old Town. The complex includes medieval ramparts, the 15th-century Church of Our Lady of Remedy, and strategic bastions that form part of the city's UNESCO-listed defense system.

Smekja Palace

The largest palace in Perast, constructed in 1764 for the Smekja seafaring family. Built entirely from Korčula stone, this Baroque structure features prominent balconies and the family coat of arms.

17th-century Baroque palace designed by Venetian architect Giovanni Battista Fonte. It currently houses the Perast Town Museum and features five balconies supported by stone brackets carved with lion heads.

2nd-century Roman villa ruins featuring exceptionally well-preserved floor mosaics. The site includes the only known mosaic depiction of Hypnos, the god of sleep, found in the Balkans.
