Historic Bridges

Prague’s architectural evolution is captured in its bridges spanning the Vltava River. This selection highlights the 14th-century Gothic Charles Bridge with its thirty Baroque statues and the Romanesque-Renaissance Lesser Town Bridge Tower. Modernist influences are visible in the 1914 Mánes Bridge and the Art Nouveau-inspired Bridge of Legions. The list also features the Libeň Bridge’s functionalist design and the contemporary Troja Bridge, a bowstring arch structure opened in 2014, showcasing the city's transition from medieval craftsmanship to modern engineering.

Charles Bridge

Historic 14th-century Gothic stone arch bridge adorned with 30 Baroque statues. Completed in 1402, it serves as a pedestrian connection featuring architectural work by Peter Parler.

Lesser Town Bridge Tower

This bridge tower is, in fact, a complex of two towers of different styles and heights.

Bridge of Legions

Linking the Lesser Town with Narodni Trida, Bridge of Legions was designed by Antonín Balšánek and built in 1901.

Manes Bridge

This bridge, named after the famous Czech painter Josef Mánes, was completed in 1914 and it is an example of Prague's modernism.

Troja Bridge
