Historic Churches of Spoleto

Spoleto’s religious landscape features exceptional examples of Romanesque architecture and early medieval design. The collection includes two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the 4th-century Basilica of San Salvatore and the Tempietto del Clitunno. The 12th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta houses frescoes by Filippo Lippi, while the high-altitude Franciscan sanctuary at Monteluco offers insight into the region's spiritual history.
