Zion Backcountry Permits

Zion National Park offers designated backcountry camping across diverse wilderness zones, including the high plateaus of the West Rim, the deep canyons of La Verkin Creek, and the sandy floors of Hop Valley. These 40 sites require a wilderness permit for overnight stays. While some locations offer proximity to seasonal springs or year-round creeks, many are designated as dry camps requiring hikers to carry all water. Sites are strictly limited to small groups to preserve the park's fragile desert ecosystem.
