Central Greece Essentials

Central Greece encompasses the archaeological remains of Delphi, once considered the center of the ancient world, and the 11th-century Hosios Loukas monastery, a masterpiece of Middle Byzantine architecture. The region preserves the historical pass of Thermopylae, site of the 480 BC Spartan defense, alongside the extensive Mycenaean collections at the Thebes Museum.
