Central Greece Essentials

Central Greece encompasses the archaeological remains of Delphi, once considered the center of the ancient world, and the 11th-century Hosios Loukas monastery, a masterpiece of Middle Byzantine architecture. The region preserves the historical pass of Thermopylae, site of the 480 BC Spartan defense, alongside the extensive Mycenaean collections at the Thebes Museum. Archaeological Museum of Thebes

Proussos Monastery
