Caves and Natural Wonders of Bükk
The Bükk Mountains in Northern Hungary contain a dense concentration of limestone formations and prehistoric sites. This list features the Lillafüred waterfall, the country's highest vertical drop at 20 meters, and the unique travertine Anna Cave. Prehistoric history is represented by the Szeleta and Suba-lyuk caves, where Neanderthal remains and Paleolithic tools were discovered. High-altitude viewpoints like Galya-tető and the Millennium Lookout provide panoramas of the Karst plateau, while the Szalajka Valley contains the cascading Fátyol Waterfall.
Lillafüredi-vízesés
Hungary's tallest vertical waterfall, dropping 20 meters. It was artificially formed during the construction of the nearby Palotaszálló hotel.
Suba-lyuk
A famous archaeological cave where the skeletal remains of a Neanderthal woman and child were discovered in the 1930s.
