Fribourg Peaks
The Fribourg Prealps are defined by dramatic limestone formations and the 2,389-meter Vanil Noir, the canton's highest point. This selection includes the iconic Le Moléson, accessible via cable car, and the Gastlosen range, often called the "Swiss Dolomites" for its jagged ridges. These peaks provide a variety of terrain, from the accessible viewpoints above Lake Geneva and Schwarzsee to the protected alpine habitats and rare flora of the Vanil Noir nature reserve.
A Gastlosen
The Gastlosen are a mountain range of the Swiss Prealps, lying between the cantons of Fribourg, Bern and Vaud.
B Dent de Jaman
A 1,875-meter limestone peak overlooking Lake Geneva and Montreux. It is known for its distinctive needle-like silhouette and views spanning the Swiss and French Alps.
C Le Moléson
Standing at 2,002 meters, this peak features an astronomical observatory and a cable car system. It provides 360-degree views reaching from Mont Blanc to the Jura Mountains.
D Dent de Lys
A 2,014-meter pyramid-shaped mountain located between the Gruyère and Veveyse regions, offering steep hiking trails and views of the surrounding Swiss Prealps.
E Vanil Noir
The highest peak in the Canton of Fribourg at 2,389 meters. It sits within a nature reserve that serves as a significant habitat for ibex and chamois.
F Teysachaux
A 1,909-meter peak adjacent to Le Moléson, characterized by its sharp rocky ridge and steep grassy southern slopes.
G Kaiseregg
A 2,185-meter summit overlooking Schwarzsee. It is the highest point in the northern Fribourg Prealps and provides panoramic views of the Bernese Oberland.
Dent de Broc
The Dent de Broc is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, overlooking Broc and the Lake of Gruyère in the canton of Fribourg.
