Dambulla's Essential Wonders

Dambulla centers on two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the 5th-century rock fortress of Sigiriya and the Golden Temple cave complex. Sigiriya features ancient frescoes, a mirror wall, and water gardens surrounding a massive granite monolith. Nearby, the Dambulla Cave Temple contains five separate caverns housing over 150 Buddhist statues and extensive ceiling murals dating back to the 1st century BCE.
