Volcanic Wonders of Indonesia

East Nusa Tenggara’s volcanic landscape features a diverse range of active stratovolcanoes and unique geological formations across the islands of Flores, Adonara, and Pantar. The highlight is Kelimutu, renowned for its three tri-colored crater lakes that shift hues due to mineral changes. Other significant peaks include the symmetrical Ebulobo, the twin volcano complex of Lewotobi, and Mount Sirung on Pantar Island, which contains a large sulfuric crater lake. Kelimutu is a volcano close to the small town of Moni in central Flores island in Indonesia.

Mount Egon

Mount Egon is a stratovolcano located in the southeastern part of the island of Flores, Indonesia in the area of Maumere bay.

Ili Lewotobi Perempuan

Part of the Lewotobi twin volcano complex in eastern Flores, this stratovolcano is known as the "female" peak and sits adjacent to its more active "male" counterpart, Lewotobi Lakilaki.

Ebulobo

Symmetrical stratovolcano in central Flores, also known as Ambugu, featuring a flat-topped summit and a history of lava flow eruptions from its northern flank.

Mount Sirung

Located on Pantar Island in the Alor archipelago, this active volcano features a wide crater containing a sulfuric lake and active fumarole fields.

Ili Boleng

Active stratovolcano located on the southeastern tip of Adonara Island, characterized by multiple summit craters and steep slopes formed by successive eruptions.
